Courts Decisions - What they are and How we see it

Recently we witnessed many high profile cases and the verdicts for those cases. Because of media coverage we get live updates for each and every moment. When did the person left his house, what he was wearing, who accompanied him, what he said in court etc etc. Be it Salman hit and run case or Jaya Lalita disproportionate asset case, every one has its own views on what should have been the court verdict.

But as an individual we forget sometimes that we have a law and order system. We have judges to make decisions based on evidence. As an individual I might want to hear something else, it may be based on what i believe but the court has to take a decision only based on the evidence presented. One can argue that generally evidence get manipulated and judges can be bought. But still we need to have trust on our judiciary.

People say our law is very relaxed and should be changed, but i feel it is meant to save the innocent, but wherever human is involved there will be chances of corruption and mistakes. But if court gives a verdict, which we want to hear we appreciate the court decision but criticize if it is not. We need to change our views and need to believe in the system. Law take its own course and the person who do bad will definitely be punished.

Niyat (Intention) Vs Neeti (Policy) in Politics

The politics and governance is all about policies. Government needs to come up with good policies and need to implement them in a good and timely manner. As in business we refer it to as Time to Market. If you miss the time to market then the impact of policy is low or may be negative as well.

The policy makers needs to do lot of brainstorming and need to be a visionary think tank. But they have so many constraints in terms of people , religion, demography etc that making a policy becomes an uphill task. But yet these people use their knowledge to come up with great policies.

But is a good policy enough? what about the intentions behind the policy. Is this policy is created for mass benefit or is it to benefit only few individuals? A good policy doesn't really means that it can benefit all. But it needs to be in a way that it can benefit many.

Policy paralysis is yet another problem but i will not go in detail about it as now i would like to bring the attention on the intention of these policies. Old people used to say your intention should be right and if your intentions are right, right things will happen. So before coming up with any policy there needs to be a good intention. It needs to become the base of the policy. If the intention of creating the policy were good then the policy will definitely be good. And moreover if intentions were good it will drive the people for implementing the policy.

The people creating policy are also humans, they are bound to do mistakes. we say To err is Human. So don't just criticize if some of their policy does not meet what you were looking for. Look for the intentions behind the policy. But that doesn't mean that poor policy makers needs to be spared, they still need to be replaced with people with good skills as well as good intentions. Intention is what matters.

The Changing Faces of Media

Breaking News ! You are seeing first on ! Exposed! these are some of the things which we hear when we open a news channel. They have become so commercialized that they have to create news if they cant find any. The source which give them news are always hidden. They are the officials which don't want to be named because of the sensitivity of the news but are ready to give this news to the media houses.

Then they have one person who is the face of that news channel. The special thing about this person is that he speak in a volume that can wake even Khumbhkaran. Then this person will use all his might and will keep asking the same question till the person don't answer what he wants to hear. The news will report what is not said. if somebody says i like something the news become that the person don't like other things.

When you open any news channel you can see 4-5 people sitting and just fighting. Trying to expose each other without really talking on the topic of the debate. if the debate is not in the favor of the person then you will also see some empty chairs representing that person who never showed up.

Media will wear different masks and will keep changing its face. They can be sympathic, they can be patriotic, they can be spy or sometimes they play the wild card of being critics. They present the news from different angles and try to show that it is their news that is bringing good to the society.

News will change its face depending on which news paper you are reading it on. People will share the news even before getting to the truth. We need to open our eyes and need to see the real face behind and need to see the news the way it is and not the ways it is presented.

The Art of Coalition (in Politics)

We have Art of Living to create a life of purpose, joy and confidence. Then we have another art, Art of Coalition to create a political career to fulfill ambitions for power. In India we have seen many coalition governments and very few majority governments. I used to think is it better two have a two party system or a system having many parties. People who supports multi party ideology says that the local party have more knowledge and more ability to handle local issue then any other party. Quite meaningful. But every coin has two sides.

The Coalition government takes away the power to be going in one hand but on the other hand it also gives negotiation power to few individual who can take advantage of the situation. A party that gets mandate close to the majority has no choice other than to make a coalition government with these few individual. What comes next is a years of struggle, blackmail and negotiation and it becomes a barrier to the development process. If the government is unable to fulfill its agenda it blames the coalition which has put restriction on it.

In a country with billions of people its very hard to think only two party representing all of them. But the art of coalition should be changed in order to help the party who makes the government. It should not become a tool of blackmailing. You listen to us or we take our support back!

Moreover the history of coalition is surprising and shocking. We have seen that people with totally different ideologies comes together to form a coalition government. The party who fights against each other will shake hands after election. The enemies will come together to form a government. This is what we are seeing in Bihar. Before election i don't even know which party i am voting for. Because i vote for party A and don't want party B to make government but after election Party A and B forms a government together.

But as a voter we should not lose heart. We need to judge the decisions of the people we vote for. We need to think logically and should take account of everything. We will definitely get another chance. We need to make them accountable. Coalition is not bad, but if the motive is to get only power and money then we need to put a check on that. We are known for unity in diversity. We need to showcase our unity in voting as well. And to do that we need to put Nation first before voting for anybody.

The Intelligent voter of India

Recently we saw some game changing elections in politics. After a long time one party got complete majority and formed government at center. Political Analyst say the reason behind such huge mandate was the way the party did campaigning this time. It also demonstrated the impact of social networking sites on people's mind.  Political gurus give credit to politicians who intelligently used their teams to win over the voters.

But these political analyst and political guru have missed out one of the reason behind the results of this election. The reason is that the voters of India have become intelligent. They know the value of their votes and they want a decisive government. Earlier coalition government used to project the coalition as their weakness, That is the reason why this time the intelligent voters of India decided to give the mandate to one party because they are tired of the excuses. They are not going to accept any excuses this time. If you perform you stay else the voters will show you the door.

If you don't agree with what i said then you can see the results of Delhi elections as well. Over the time the voters have become so intelligent that they gave chance to a revolutionary party in Delhi and give them huge mandate. They are eager to see changes and will not accept any excuses. A new political era has started and each and every citizen wants to contribute to the progress of the nation. The divide and rule politics is taking its last breadth.

I guess the voters have realized the importance of casting their vote and casting it right as well. They have become responsible as well as intelligent. The people who still feel that their vote cant do anything need to rethink and realize the power this voting gives to them.

The Politics over Garbage

Recently, Delhi witnessed a new era in politics. They saw how politics can be done on anything even on garbage. I must say medals should be given to the government and municipal corporation who achieved this big milestone together. Even the central government who did nothing also deserved at least a silver medal if not gold. That is why politics is termed as dirty politics.

Governance should be about taking people together and finding solution for the problems. but actually what these people are doing is how to create problems. kudos to this democracy and kudos to this system of governance. A political rivalry or lack of governance skill whatever it is, it needs to be controlled. But who is going to put a check on this kind of nuisance.

Did the people cast their vote to chose government or they chose garbage. I guess they chose the latter. But this is not because of the people we chose, its because the system is not able to control the personal interest of the chosen people. In the end the court has to take the final stand and help the residents of Delhi.

Definitely people must be waiting for the next elections to show these people the strength of their votes but still there is a long time to go. But meanwhile we need to do introspection to find out what can we do to avoid this in future.

The NAYAK of Poiltics

There is a Bollywood movie named 'NAYAK' featuring Anil Kapoor that got a lot of appreciation. The reason was that it was a story of a common man who was challenged to be CM for one day and he bravely accepted it. And after becoming CM in a single day he changed the fate of many things and stopped corruption by suspending the officers who were not doing their work.

We live in a country where the politics is the only profession which does not require any qualification and comes with life long facilities. We believe that these politician are ruining the country and nothing cant be done so we don't go to cast our vote or sometime do cast.

But somewhere our eyes want to see the Nayak of politics. We want that once again the chance should be given to a common man who will change everything in just one day. But we still need to be realistic. One day will be a too hard deadline for a country of billion people. In Delhi we saw a rise of a common man as a politician who vows to change the system from within the system. There are lots of hope on him and we want to see him succeed. But he will take time. Also he need to protect himself from the corrupt system. So still the Nayak is not there.

But we forget that there is a Nayak in everyone of us. We represent common man. Why are we waiting for the Nayak to be born. We ourselves can be one. We just need to believe in ourselves and start doing what we think that Nayak will do and stop doing what Nayak will punish. As simple as that. We still need to believe and trust our system. We are the one who makes this system. and we are the one who can make it right. So be a Nayak for yourself and for the people around you. Be a leader that you want to see.
